Think we can all agree that if Zendaya had shown up at the 2025 Oscars, she’d have been at the tippy top of the best dressed list. But she skipped the red carpet this year, and if you’re wondering why the reason is...pretty obvious.

While Zendaya hasn’t released a statement confirming her decision for not attending, her film Challengers was completely snubbed, so we can’t really blame her for choosing to watch from home in her pjs. Not only did Zendaya not get nominated in the Best Actress category, the film didn’t even get a Best Original Score nomination—despite having one of the best soundtracks (courtesy of Trent Reznor) maybe ever? And please be advised that these Oscars snubs are even more shocking considering Zendaya was nominated at the Golden Globes AND Challengers literally won Best Score. Like, did the Academy not even bother watching this movie? Hold me back!!!

ANYWAY, Zendaya’s other major film from last year, Dune: Part Two, was nominated for Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, and Best Picture, so that’s something. But given the how the film has done this awards season, it’s pretty unlikely that they’ll be accepting the biggest award of the night.

As for what’s next for Zendaya, she’s starring in The Drama with Robert Pattinson, working on the third season of Euphoria, and gearing up for production on The Odyssey—Christopher Nolan’s new movie. Oh, and she’s recently engaged, so is presumably planning her wedding to Tom Holland. In other words, she’s booked and busy.
